About Us
NextWidgets was started in Zurich, Switzerland, with the goal of developing the next generation of e-commerce extensions suitable to reach the newest areas of the Internet created by the assurgence of the Social Web as well as the rapid growth of Video and Mobile.
As a recognized innovator, NextWidgets was accepted into the ‘CTI Start-up’ program in 2010, a Swiss federally funded program for high-potential start-ups in Switzerland. NextWidgets is also a member of the Microsoft BizSpark program, developed to support high-potential startups with Microsoft development tools and services. NextWidgets has been recognized in numerous conferences and press articles as a pioneer in transactional advertising and Facebook commerce technology.
Team
Alex Savic – Chief Executive Officer
Alex Savic is the founder of NextWidgets. Over the last decade, he has worked on digital strategies for numerous verticals, including state-of-the-art solutions in eHealth focusing on the correlation between digitally assisted therapy adherence and improved health outcomes as well as for the finance industry in the area of corporate sustainability analysis. Alex has been a speaker on these topics at numerous conferences including Health 2.0, Medicine 2.0, NEXT10, The Next Web, ECommerce Expo Paris and others. Over the last few years, Alex has been exclusively focused on reimagining the world of digital advertising and e-commerce and developing the missing links required to create superior user experiences while generating improved returns for advertisers. The work has led to the creation of numerous products under the NextWidgets brand, widely accepted as being at the forefront of global innovation in the areas of display and video advertising, distributed ecommerce, mobile and social commerce. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science from King’s College London and works in Zurich, Switzerland where he was born.
Jovica Zaric – Chief Technical Officer
Jovica, a graduate of the Higher Electrotechnical University Belgrade, has been with NextWidgets since October 2009. Recently appointed as CTO, Jovica is crucial to the continued success of NextWidgets. Previously Jovica worked in the US developing video digitizing software (C# to access Microsoft DirectShow API), first of its kind photography business information systems and asset management systems using Adobe Flex, PHP and MySQL.
Ronald Wassenaar – Business Development
Ronald Wassenaar is a Dutch online advertising veteran that started his online career as early as the mid 1990s by joining AOL Europe. After holding various senior positions in the rapidly developing online industry, he founded his own online media agency and developed a strong international footprint. Ronald possesses a vast industry network and in-depth understanding and experience of digital advertising strategies and today leads European Business Development for NextWidgets. Ronald currently lives in and operates from Amsterdam.
Buda Bogicevic – Chief Information Officer
Buda has multi-year experience in developing e-banking & m-banking solutions, being one of the pioneers of electronic banking systems in Serbia. Between 2000-2003, Buda was lead programmer developing domestic payment systems at Informatika AD and afterwards joined Hypo Alpe Adria Bank as Deputy Head of Domestic Payment System where he was in charge of implementing technology solutions for supervision and correction of bookings, reffering RTGS and clearing, forced collection, cheques, reclamations and back office systems.
Nikola Lehocki - Creative Director
Nikola graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts and Design in Belgrade and has since then been professionally involved in graphic and web design. He gained experience and developed his creative approach in numerous advertising agencies and design studios including Idea Plus, Pristop, Orange studio, Open Mind, Unibrand and Morpheus. After a recent decision to place more focus on web related projects, Nikola accepted the opportunity and challenge to become the creative director at NextWidgets.

Michael Sidler
Dr. Michael Sidler has co-founded Redalpine Venture Partners AG in Zürich in 2007 and acts as General Partner for Redalpine Capital I (Luxemburg). Before Redalpine, Michael was responsible for corporate investments and M&A at Prionics AG, a Biotech company in Schlieren, Switzerland, where under his guidance several acquisitions have been completed. From 1998 to 2003, Michael was with The Boston Consulting Group in Zürich and Toronto as a Consultant and Project Leader in several different industries and roles. Michael Sidler has a PhD in Life Sciences from University of Zürich. He is a member of several organizations, juries and advisory boards for the support of innovation and startups (Venturekick, Technopark Zürich, CTI Invest, Glatec) and a coach for the Swiss governmental program CTI-Startup.
Dragan Pleskonjic
Dragan is a ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Auditor and CSO (Chief Security Officer) at GTECH G2 group (interactive division of GTECH) and University lecturer of Computer Networks Security and Operating Systems at Belgrade’s Advanced school of electrical engineering and computing. Dragan is a highly experienced high-tech entrepreneur, with a strong background in security of computer systems, networks and information systems security, cryptology as well as profound knowledge of wireless networks and systems and software development methodologies with over fifty published papers at technical and scientific conferences, seminars and publications internationally, including IEEE and ACM events and publications, university publications and books. Dragan is also a reviewer for scientific and technical journals, conferences and papers including Elsevier Computers & Security, journal on Thompson SCI list, is a member of ACM society (honored with the designation of Senior Member since 2010) and ACM SIGSAC (Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control), and also member of IEEE and IEEE Computer and IEEE Communications Societies.
